Granted, it's still highly random, but you know when you are taking a chance at something bad happening and when you are in good shape to do precede. As the song says, you have to know when the hold them, know when to fold them, know when to walk away and know when to run. Also, the game as two different endings. One where the victory over the Overload is automatic, and one where you have to battle (or at least where you have to watch a progress bar that represents the battle).fcsuperhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09631601009349459890noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6162314467762792782.post-75301715432346749422023-08-28T04:34:55.299-04:002023-08-28T04:34:55.299-04:00The key sequence to steal gold is honestly a prett...The key sequence to steal gold is honestly a pretty neat way to simulate a dexterity challenge. I occasionally lacked scope and perspective during my first year of blogging, and I sometimes valued the opportunity to write a "pan" over a sober analysis of the merits of a game. Since I didn't win the first time, perhaps I'll give <i>Braminar</i> another try when I swing back through 1987.CRPG Addicthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01238237377918550322noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6162314467762792782.post-87612310377778018322016-12-29T14:15:13.470-05:002016-12-29T14:15:13.470-05:00I would also like to give Braminar some backup. No...I would also like to give Braminar some backup. None of these criticisms seems fair to me -- You're giving it a bad review because it'snot the type of game you wanted it to be. Instead, I'd focus on the kind of game it is, which is extremely unique. When I was young, I far preferred this style of gameplay to a text parser, and I still think a game of this type could make for a great smartphone app.Keith McNallyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12182420906512175364noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6162314467762792782.post-59745917810791846822016-06-26T19:30:00.441-04:002016-06-26T19:30:00.441-04:00Is this the game you're thinking of?

I played and ...Hey I think this review is unfair... I played and enjoyed Braminar for its simplicity and quirky humour (and finished it legitimately, which I feel is a prerequisite for reviewing a game like this IMO). It follows the "Camels!" style of game closely - in case anyone was coding in the very early 80s and remembers this game it worked exactly the same way. Unfortunately Camels! (a game that appeared in magazines for people to copy the code into their C64 etc) seems to be lost to the ages yet Braminar survives.
